College Basketball Recruiting

Ok, thanks. Definitely think we need to land one of those guys. While we all feel Vrank's PER and DeL's potential are pretty high, they're still fairly unproven and 2 post players is pretty thin. An injury to one and we're in a situation where White or Reddish are playing minutes at the 5.

And this is all assuming DeLaurier doesn't transfer after being stuck on the bench again this year.

I know recruiting is difficult, and I know it's increasingly hard to predict rosters into the future, but it seems we're always swinging wildly back and forth between being too deep at a position and not deep enough.

Yeah, seems like one year we're loaded wings, the next FC, etc. Very rarely do we have a balanced roster. I think we do this year as long as one of our other guards steps up and can play 10mpg this year.

Well, in addition to lack of guard depth we don't really have the 3/4 hybrid we usually have. Meanwhile, we have five frontcourt players for two spots.

He just has to see the floor. Should be among the top 7, IMO. I am basing this on the assumption he worked diligently on his game this summer to take his game a step forward; I'm excited to see it.

I am not sure how to overcome the problem you cite in the 2nd sentence. A balance between OAD + multi year players is desired, but this does not necessarily address the positional gaps you have identified. A player's willingness to have limited time the 1st year or 2 is so uncommon, it makes this a difficult proposition.

Major mistake if he rides the bench. Iv'e said it before, I think we can get some minutes from Bagley at the 3.

Duval 35/Allen 5
Allen 30/Trent 10
Trent 15/Bagley 10/O'Connell-White-Tucker 20
Bagley 20/DeL 15/Carter 5
Carter 25/Bolden 15

I think that's pretty realistic. Obviously they won't average exactly that but I think Duval/Allen play as much as they can possibly handle which will be in the 34-37 range IMO. Bagley and Carter will be in the low 30's, Trent in the mid 20's, DeL and Bolden around 15 each and that leaves about 15-20 minutes at the wing spot for O'Connell, Tucker or White to step in and play.

Armando Bacot could reclassify and be here next year. There's no way our class will only consist of Reddish, Jones, and Barrett.

Optimistic about Zion.

Can't say I know enough about this Twitter account to vouch for its reliability, so I'll post these purely for discussion purposes.

Possibilities ranked by likelihood:

1. Bullshit

2. It's Under Armour and a school like Boston College or South Dakota St

3. It's Nike and Duke. K resigns in shame, narrowly avoiding prison time and destroying his legacy forever.

(Could probably swap 1 & 3)

Apparently there are two more assistants facing charges, other than Evans and Person.

I'm now wondering whether this might be what Fran Fraschilla was referencing in that "seismic" tweet a few weeks ago.

For Evans, chances are it has to do with his time at South Carolina, not OSU.

There are a few unnamed universities in the filing that would seem to now have used some ineligible players. Media in Louisville claiming UofL is perhaps one of them.
