Duke Hosts NC Central Eagles

Who's the backup QB when Jones gets hurt?

Who's the backup QB when Jones gets hurt?

Parker Boehme or Quentin Harris or Chris Katrenick, which would mean we start all over again like last season when Thomas Sirk was lost with his achilles injury.

Fun things to watch might be :

- Brittain Brown and Deon Jackson doing a bunch of athletic running back things.

- Jordan and Dimukeje doing athletic DE things.

- The most hyped two recruits in the Cut era (Bracey and Kraeling) finally playing college football.

There's obviously nothing to take away from this game, but I try to enjoy the one time per year we get to watch our young guys run around and do fun stuff in a stress-free blowout. It's the. season equivalent of HUDL highlight porn.

I'd like to see a good half out of Daniel Jones and our starters.

I think after last year's kicking fiasco, Cut will take most fourth down opportunities to kick a field goal in a low pressure situation to get our kicker(s?) used to live kicking.

I expect a very vanilla offense after a couple of series, a lot of running plays out of the read option, some quick throws, and just generally "power" football, which is not Duke's style at all. Let our OLine get good reps against an over-matched DLine and shorten the game in order to minimize injury exposure.

On defense, I'd like to get good pressure on the QB without too many blitzes. I don't know anything about Central's offense, but like always it will start up front with the guys on the D-Line. I was pretty impressed with our improvement there under Coach Albert's first year direction. Hopefully with more bodies and a second year in his system we can continue to improve, especially on what should be a small-ish Central OLine.

Just put up points early, coast for the rest of the game, and get out without any injuries. Not much to be seen here, but at least it's football season again!

I am a guilty drunk. I am the least excited about college football as I have ever been in my entire life. I can't help but feel guilty cheering on kids as they gain more and more towards CTE. I fucking hate that I have any sort of a conscious but feel guilty as fuck for attending a Nebraska game tomorrow even with a free ticket to the game. I want to donate money towards CTE research in hopes that the kids I am watching play football will be able to overcome the effects of playing football. Holy fuck I am drunk but my conscious won't stop. This is painful, I don't even want to watch football despite my hopes of both Duke, Nebraska and the Texans being successful. Ugh.

Line should be at least 35, if not 40. We've won every game against NCCU by at least 35.

Main suspense is whether we hit 50 points or not.

I'll predict 56-7.

Dammit I was off by four points.

WatchESPN stream refused to work for half the game, but from what I did see, very solid performance against an overmatched opponent.

1-0, no complaints at all. Also Baylor and Northwestern look highly beatable.
