Injury Report

Nice that the only guys on the "out" list are guys who we knew were going to be out before the season. Would be nice to get Braxton and/or Boyd back, though.

The "questionable" list is also a little scary (Cofield?), but better to see names there than under "out".

I think the Questionable guys play. There's a lot of gamesmanship that goes on with injury reports, especially before a rivalry game. Out obviously means out, but everything else leaves open the possibility of playing time from a snap here or there to playing the whole game.

What's the deal with Kelby again? Is he essentially out for the year?

I think that's the assumption. He tore his ACL yet again in spring practice and hasn't redshirted yet, so no sense in burning his junior year eligibility and risking another injury from coming back too quickly.

So disappointing. I really, really want to see him out there. Nothing better than a focused, intense, mean LB. My favorite type of people in all of sports.

Connette expected to be part of the gameplan this week.

PROBABLE
DE Dezmond Johnson (lower body)
DT Jamal Wallace (lower body)

QUESTIONABLE
QB Brandon Connette (shoulder)

DOUBTFUL
S Brandon Braxton (lower body)

OUT
CB Jared Boyd (leg)
LB Kelby Brown (leg)
TE Braxton Deaver (leg)
S Anthony Young-Wiseman (leg)

Duke redshirt junior safety Anthony Young-Wiseman underwent arthroscopic surgery on Monday to address a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. No timetable for his return to action has been set.

Welp. Looks like we'll probably be seeing some more Dwayne Norman going forward, especially if Braxton is hurt.

I think we have four scholarship safeties available if Braxton is out

Lol at us going bowling with our second team defense

“Sean Renfree – we will be evaluating him. He’s not feeling very good at the current time. Juwan Thompson was not able to return. I think all and any tests that he has had to this point have been in a good manner - positive. I know we’ve got a few others that have been banged up."

“It’s head and we will just see where it leads from there. There’s nothing much you can say. That’s a circumstance for the doctor’s to manage. You’ve got laws and everything else. That’s kind of what I can say.”

Oof. Renfree probable is good news - Thompson and KA doubtful and Braxton still out is not.

Hopefully they'll be back and ready to go after the bye week.

PROBABLY

QB Sean Renfree (head)

DOUBTFUL

DE Kenny Anunike (lower body)

RB Juwan Thompson (upper body)

OUT

CB Jared Boyd (leg)

S Brandon Braxton (lower body)

LB Kelby Brown (leg)

TE Braxton Deaver (leg)

S Anthony Young-Wiseman (leg)

FUCK. Lee Butler likely to need surgery for his knee injury.

Also strange to not see Byas out there today. Not sure what was up with that.

Thomas Sirk tore his Achilles. Average return time for NFL players is 11 months, and they hardly ever get back to where they were.

Fucking shit cock balls damnit.

really fucks up the future here.

Had already penciled Sirk in as a 2 year starter at the least.
