Doesn’t seem like it’s Duke. I guess the “We lost Capel so we’re back to taking bad players again and we’d like you to come to Duke” pitch didn’t resonate in this case. Back to the drawing board.

Obviously losing Capel and giving out cash to recruits is no longer a viable option with NCAA & FBI probes en sech, we now have to go back to paying Refs under the table and influence games that way to keep K's legacy moving in the right direction.

Seems like the prime candidate to have a Kennard-like sophomore leap. 92% FT but only 31% 3PT in big volume after being a great shooter in HS. Solid assist rate/turnover rate and playing mostly PG for Syracuse suggests he should be able to be a Kennard-level playmaker down the road. His ORtg of 108 is probably artificially depressed quite a bit, though it’s already not bad for a freshman.

Assuming his 6-1 frame will keep him from ever playing in the NBA, unlike Kennard, this should end up as a tremendous recruiting miss by a Duke program that’s been starved for shooting and doesn’t have a lot of shooters on the horizon. He carried Syracuse at FSU today and is already a million times better than Alex O’Connell as a junior.
