What a great thread. I love this terrible, confusing, disjointed one-sentence summary of the state of Nascar in 2013 that would mean nothing to anyone here even if we did care even a tiny bit.

Underrated in the worst of all time lists, IMHO.

I've got friends that compete at a pretty high level in iRacing, they use the AI spotters, which would be objectively better. Their sim racing setups probably cost more than their real cars.

Maybe they were required to use a real person to make it more like real racing or just to get the rest of the teams involved? Also to have someone to shout racial slurs at, further upping the realism.

You want to say it's because it's live sports, but so were golf, WWE, and UFC, and they didn't perform nearly as well.
