If Riley plays I think Duke wins easily. He cannot be 80-100% regardless. My gut says he won't play. But Dave Doeren is still coach at NCSU and Elko is still coaching Duke's defense.

My Prediction:

NC State 13
Duke 28

Duke 24
NC State 10

Really need this game to stay in the ACC title hunt. I think we’ll get it done coming off a bye.

Impressive win tonight. With missing your starting QB, coming off a close loss against Notre Dame, Elko had a week to prepare for State and it showed. A bit of nerves to start for back up QB Henry Belin IV after throwing a pick settled in and threw a 69 yard TD to Jason Calhoun of his own and the Blue Devils simply took control of the game. Jordan Waters rushed for 123 yards on 13 carries, the highlight an 83-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that sealed the deal.

Duke has one of the best scoring defenses in the nation, limiting opponents to 8.8 points per game. But the Blue Devils are toward the bottom of the ACC (10th) in defending the run, allowing an average of 133 rushing yards. The challenge will be next week against the unbeaten FSU Noles. IMHO Riley Leonard will most likely be out next Saturday again. But this Duke team is getting better and and more impressive each week. We shall see.

Amazing the difference between an average coach (whatever his shortcomings, Doeren isn't Franks/Roof level, he's 6-4 against UNC which I doubt Saban or Woody Hayes could do) and a real high level coach. State were made to look like they had a Franks/Roof level coach out there.
