This Day In History

I forgot I had done that on this board. LOL. #DBC2

George Orwell's 1984 was published 64 years ago today.

Ezra Pound's "In the Station of the Metro" was published 100 years ago today. It's one of the shortest, well-known poems in the English language. It goes like this:

The apparition of these faces in the crowd;
petals on a wet, black bough.

That's the whole thing.

The famous German writer, Thomas Mann, was born today. Thus ends your literary history lesson for today.

Excellent, lhys.

I'm gonna try to remember to do this every once in a while.

Don't know how many of you have had the opportunity to meet a Normandy veteran, and one who's willing to share his experience. It is truly awe-inspiring.

Happy Malaysian Independence Day, dkst! Fuck the British Empire. Amirite?!

Gonna try to bring this back.
