I really want Music City. Cool town that I haven't spent much time in and a direct flight from anywhere because Nashville is a Southwest hub.

Based on the ESPN/CBS projections, here are examples of the caliber of opponent Duke would face in each Bowl Game:

Orange - Louisville or Rutgers
Chick-fil-A - Georgia or Mississippi State or Texas A&M
Russell Athletic - Rutgers or Louisville
Sun - Stanford or UCLA or Arizona State
Belk - Cincinnati
Music City - Vanderbilt or Tennessee or Texas A&M
Independence - Louisiana Tech or Miami (OH) or New Mexico or Vanderbilt
Military - Bowling Green or Arizona or Utah State or UL-Lafayette or Iowa State

Texas A&M is a top 10 caliber team, but other than the potential of facing Texas A&M, every bowl Belk or lower is winnable. If Louisville is in the Russell Athletic and if UCLA is in the Sun, then those are winnable as well.

Duke-Vandy in Nashville would be a huge sell for a bowl committee, I'd think.

I'm hoping Charlotte or Nashville.

Charlotte because of the ease in transportation.

Nashville because the city is a blast. Also we get to play an sec team.

REALLY want Nashvegas. Nashville for NYE would be an incredible experience. Plus it's pretty close to Atlanta.

Other than that, I'd be ok with being in Charlotte. But who knows if we would wanna play there again after December 1st.

Miami.

I sadly will be out of the country no matter what bowl we get in to. Anybody know if Jerusalem has any Duke football bars? (Going for a class, believe it or not).

Obvs depends on winning more, but verrry interesting...

Encouraging sign for our bowl attractiveness in general. Plus, Duke playing in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando would pretty much make my life.

Well, the good news is that, assuming Wake finishes 1-3 (as they should), Duke won't do any worse than Charlotte or Nashville, even if we lose out. And honestly, I bet we'd get picked over Wake this year even if they beat Vandy to get to 6-6.

Hooray for the ACC being horrible!

I don't know why, but I love Bomani Jones. Still can't figure out what it is, but I think he's much better than most of the other blowhards who get featured on ESPN from time to time.

It just struck me that we'll get an extra month of practice this year. I'm still struggling to mentally cope with these glorious developments.

Looks like nothing has changed after those two unflattering performances. Still projected to go to Belk or Music City. Duke would be around 9-point underdogs to Cincinnati or Tennessee.

Please Music City Bowl!

Honestly, I'll probably go regardless of who plays in the game, but it'd be so much more awesome if it was Duke.

It seems pretty likely that Vandy is MCB bound. I'd be surprised if they went back to the Liberty Bowl and too many things have to happen to get selected by the Chick-Fil-A or Gator Bowl. From a Vanderbilt perspective I'd much rather play someone like VT in the MCB because of the name factor. A Duke/Vandy bowl game doesn't do much for either program nationally, would get labeled as a boring brainiac bowl, and wouldn't have much of a following outside of our two fan bases. Plus, both programs have already played against each other a bunch the past 25 years, whereas VT and VU have only played once or twice. If both teams are in the MCB, I'll be intrigued by the possibilities of meeting you gentleman/scholars.

So Duke looks good for the #5 spot in the ACC right? If VT blows this and Vandy has to play someone like Toledo or Ball St I'll be irate.

It comes down to Belk or Music City for us.

I'd say 75% chance Belk (or so Duke thinks), and 25% Nashville. Still really hoping for Nashville.
