The Duke Blue Devils (5-3) host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-4) on Thursday, November 2, 2023 in a matchup between ACC rivals at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Wake Forest is a 12.5-point underdog. The over/under is set at 45 points for the outing.
In their most recent game, the Blue Devils lost versus the Louisville Cardinals, 23-0. Last time around, the Demon Deacons fell to the Florida State Seminoles, with 41-16 being the final score
I was really disappointed with the Louisville game as Duke could do nothing right and Louisville could do no wrong. The result was a shutout loss. Riley hasn't been the same since starting against FSU as you can tell he just isn't settled in the pocket and a bit reluctant to run the ball. All of which tells me he isn't ready to go at 100%. He's probably closer to 50% which is frustrating. Elko will set the team's sights on regaining the defensive edge the team has had for most of the season so far. And look for Jordan Waters to step up and get back to rushing the ball and using Duke's big offensive line.
Look for a better performance from the Blue Devils in this one. My prediction:
Wake Forest 15
Duke 28
