College football (non-Duke)

This thing is a huge joke.

Mississippi State jumps Michigan State despite neither playing and Michigan State 2 spots ahead before today. This costs ACC the Citrus bowl and moves everyone down a notch, with ND still considered.

Weekly ranking shows make for good ratings, but it makes the committee look like huge idiots.

Swofford needs to say something.

I see around 5-7 wins but I must be more optimistic

Based on your optimism, I have revised my win total prediction down to zero wins, kelvin.

And the wins are in the shittiest ones. It's basically the Pinstripe and the bottom 4 on that list above. ACC would be favorited in those matchups I would think. Russell, Belk and Military are winnable but suspect ACC will be dogs in those three.

Also, does today's fuck you to the Big 12 and their non-conference championship game structure give ND some greater incentive to join the ACC full time at this point or are the dollars just too great to give up? It seems to me that they're gonna have a hard time making a 4 team playoff unless they go undefeated if this season is any indication.

I'm not sure Miami cares about football right now. I definitely don't trust Miami, VPI, Pitt or NCSU to win an important game. GIT, Clemson, Duke and probably Louisville are above their pay grade, IMO. I guess FSU will at least keep it close, but they have not been very emphatic with their wins this year. I feel like BC is playing really good ball at the right time of the year, and UNC has the offensive firepower to hang with anyone. They are my two wins, a team that I forget is in the conference, and a team I can't stand.

I really doubt it had that much to do with lack of a conference championship and more to do with the names on the front of the jerseys. Replace TCU with Oklahoma or especially Texas, and I doubt they are dropped from 3 to 6. I don't think Notre Dame would have to worry.

Yes, I think uninspiring is a good word for it. He has been decent but nothing great at Oregon St, and even if he's good you might be looking for a new coach after a few years anyway because he's 61 years old.

Back to expecting a new coach in 4 years. OSU's defense sucked last year and now they're bringing that defensive coordinator with him. So much for opening the checkbook and hiring a competent coaching staff, wouldn't want to do that.

Wisconsin coach leaving for Oregon State. That seems weird.

Bo Pelini to Youngstown St.

He must only be willing to be a head coach right now.

How was he not in demand for an upper-echelon DC position or at the least a non power-5 job like Houston (although they have a fetish for high octane offenses)

Maybe because no athletic director wants to publicly be called a cunt.
