Duke will face Wake Forest on Thursday night at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. In their last meeting, Duke won against Wake Forest with a score of 34-31. Duke’s quarterback, Riley Leonard, had a standout performance, setting career records in completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. The Blue Devils’ head coach, Mike Elko, and Wake Forest’s head coach, Dave Clawson, have a long history together, having spent 12 seasons working together at various schools. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN at 7:30 p.m.

I was really disappointed with the Louisville game as Duke could do nothing right and Louisville could do no wrong. The result was a shutout loss. Riley hasn't been the same since starting against FSU as you can tell he just isn't settled in the pocket and a bit reluctant to run the ball. All of which tells me he isn't ready to go at 100%. He's probably closer to 50% which is frustrating. Elko will set the team's sights on regaining the defensive edge the team has had for most of the season so far. And look for Jordan Waters to step up and get back to rushing the ball and using Duke's big offensive line.

Look for a better performance from the Blue Devils in this one. My prediction:

Wake Forest 15
Duke 28

Wake is really down this year - easily their worst team since 2015. Their QB makes Chase Brice look like a gunslinger in comparison. He’s earned the chance to right the ship, but I’ve definitely gotten some later stage Cutcliffe vibes from Clawson this year.

I beg Elko to sit Riley. It’s going to be cold as hell (low 30s), and he is so limited at the moment. Let him rest as we gear up for a war in Chapel Hill.

No prediction from me this week as I was completely off with Louisville.

I somehow glossed over the fact they're playing Thursday night this week. Got family coming into Vegas so not sure how much, if any, I'll get to watch this week. Hopefully can get a W with the backup QB and let Riley heal up for UNC week.

Elko is dumb if he’s even thinking about playing Riley.

I would rather lose to Wake Forest and not have Leonard play Thursday night than miss the opportunity for him to play against Carolina. But that's just me.

Belin apparently has an upper body injury. I'm seeing wildly different spreads though. Three smaller books have Duke favored anywhere from 9 to 13 points. The bigger sportsbooks are between -6 to -7. So not sure what's up.

Fuck. Leonard with a new toe injury, out maybe the rest of the season. Fuuuuuuuucked.

Just win one and look forward to next year.

Fucking injuries ruined what could’ve been a truly special season.

My Super Bowl is now the damn Pitt game because we’ve lost 7 straight to them. Don’t think we win in Chapel Hill without Riley.
