As part of the overall board upgrade I am introducing an all new Duke Forum Credit system. This credit system will allow you to earn/spend based on your activity on the board and also replaces Sportbook Cash for all wagers in the Sportsbook.

Credits can be earned by actively using the board, participating in threads, receiving reactions and notoriety from other board members, and by winning wagers and bets in the Sportsbook.

The events that trigger income are:

$500 - Registration
$10 - Daily Login
$10 - Post in a thread
$20 - Vote in a poll
$1 - Receive a Like
$3 - Receive a Basic Reaction (Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry)
$2 - Receive a Premium Reaction (Strongface, Scheyerface)
$100 - Gain a follower
$xx - Winning wagers and bets

The events that trigger expenses are:
$5 - Giving a Premium Reaction (Strongface, Scheyerface, Dislike)
$4 - Giving a Basic Reaction (Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry)
$1 - Giving a Like
$xx - Placing wagers and making bets in the Sportsbook

DF Credits can also be donated to other users. Donations are limited to $200 and both members of the transaction will be taxed 5%.

Question: do you receive the credits automatically, or do you have to do it manually?

I can't tell if I'm going to be poor or rich. I make a lot of posts but I also hand out "likes" like candy. I have no plans to stop just because they're costing me. It's the principle of it.

@TBC will be broke by next week.

The hope is that TBC's true love of handing out likes can only be sustained if he starts posting occasionally.

I should also note that all of these values are subject to change if we see any unforeseen and unwanted results.

The dislike does have a negative impact on a user's Reaction Score though.

Zack, when I donate, it's not the right amount. I'll say, "100", and it will do 103 or something.

Not a big deal- just a heads up.

Jokey post, but I'm serious. I wouldn't want anyone to go through a user's old posts and click thumbs down on all of them in order to hurt their future reacting/betting ability. Can totally see myself doing exactly that.

This was exactly the thought. I want to limit the opportunity for abuse of features that are intended to make the site more enjoyable for people.
