For you tech-savvy folks, how easy is it to replace an old fashioned spinning HDD in a laptop with an SSD? Does it make sense to buy a laptop with HDD and immediately replace with a 1 TB SSD that costs about $130? Seems like the extra cost for a 256 GB SSD already built-in rather than a 1 TB HDD is much more than $130.

It's easy.
Right now SSDs are the cheapest they've ever been.

Performance for SDD versus HDD is definitely worth another 15% or so.

His entire base agrees with this, though. I mean, that is the basis of MAGA wrapped up in two tweets about airplanes.

Do all laptop hinges break after ~2 years? Or am I just a dumbass? Literally every laptop I've ever owned has to be replaced prior to obsolescence because the hinges break. I'm on my way to Best Buy now for yet another new laptop.

Same, any non-Macbook I've ever used comes apart at the hinges at around two years.

@TS9 do you use a new Macbook to record music? I just got mine today, but I'm extremely bummed because the adapter I got (usb to usb 3) only seems to work with certain devices. I don't think there's anything wrong with the adapter. But it means I can't use my midi keyboard with this laptop, for example.
