Player Justise Winslow

Another in an endless line of articles about The Package:

Duke is considered by many the frontrunner for Jones, a 6-1 point guard out of Apple Valley (MN), and Okafor, a 6-10 big man from Chicago Whitney Young, although Okafor said nothing is done at the moment. “That’s a rumor, I’m not committed yet,” Okafor told SNY.tv from the U.S. U19 training in Colorado Springs, Colo. “That’s a rumor.”

Coincidentally, this was Sean Dockery's nickname on East Campus.

I think it is interesting how Tyus uses much more confident verbage than Okafor.

Jerry Meyer switched his prediction from Duke back to Zona. All Shred's fault

About that package deal…

“I don’t know if it is a big or little factor, but it is a factor,” Winslow said. “To be able to go to school with those guys would make that program very elite. I want to go to school with them, but all three of us have to do what’s best for our families.

“If it happens that we go to school together, all three of us, that would be the best. I’m really excited. I don’t know how it is going to unflold. If it does unfold that way, I’ll be really happy.”

In other words, it would be more like a happy coincidence, not a true package deal if Winslow ends up with Jones and Okafor, who echoed that thought as well.

“The third guy, we love Justise, but that’s not a guarantee like me and Tyus,” Okafor said. “The option is there.”

In other words, he's down to Arizona and 7 schools he's choosing from to mooch off of with official visits.

I really do like the fact that he decided to visit Duke with those other guys. Reading between the lines, I would not be surprised if we get them all while missing out on Looney.

Would not be a bad outcome in the slightest, though Looney is my current obsession in this class.

I'll be shocked if Winslow ends up anywhere other than Arizona. He's so close with their staff and players that I think he's going to have a tough time calling them up and telling them he's going somewhere else.

I wonder if Stanley Johnson to Arizona would affect the Chief Justise's decision at all. Arizona is building a team that is ideal for routing the usual Duke team.

Apparently there's been talk that one of them would play the three while the other played the two. Can't remember which would do which.

Johnson is the one who can shoot.

Johnson as a college SG is absurd. He's built like Semi. Do they have no carryovers to compete for PT? Duke will have no competition for Justise when Hood and Jabari abandon us.

Duke would turn this into a center.
