What's gross is the hyperbole and that people are seemingly still addicted to counting per game stats.
Maye is not even a top 5 big.
Marques Bolden had a higher BPM than Maye last year. He also had a better ORtg and DRtg.
Marques is bigger, stronger, can dunk, and is just better overall, but you don't see people saying he's the best returning player in college basketball.
If Azubuike comes back for Kansas, he's another guy better than Maye.
Bigs like Konate for WVU, Tillie for Gonzaga, and Happ (if he comes back) for Wisconsin are also better.
