College Basketball Recruiting

Ideal situation 100% at this point is Duke (obviously) lands Barrett, Zion goes overseas or Clemson, and Shittu goes to Oregon.

If Zion doesn't attend Duke, I hope he goes to Europe or China! Anywhere but Kentucky!

So do you not get that Duke is going to stay away from Zion since he is directly involved with this investigation? Why would you think one recruit is worth the added scrutiny of an FBI INVESTIGATION ON DUKE?!

I've generally been silent on your posts here, but come on. Don't be fucking obtuse. If not being obtuse then you are just trolling at this point and like Zack said, be better.
I don't want Duke going after Zion if he's on the take, to be clear. I guess I was just hoping against hope that he wasn't. I thought he might not be since he's coming (at least he was) to CTC.

Why does him coming to CTC (if he even still does) make you think he's not on the take?

BCS: he goes to Kentucky and the FBI follows the trail to Lexington eventually

The article you posted has him on the cover and contains "cryptic" descriptions that could only describe him. C'mon man.

Sounds like he may be radioactive here soon. Best case was that this happened after he started playing in Lexington, but almost as good is him becoming untouchable. Their class next year could look a bit lean by their standards.

Louisville just named one of their assistants as interim HC. Apparently he's now getting slammed with questions about the FBI, recruiting, etc, etc. On the one hand, I feel bad for the guy cuz he's in the most no win of no win situations ever. On the other hand, he could have said, "Uh, no thanks". I don't know, maybe he just needs a job.

The only play for him is to accept the interim job if he has aspirations of being a college head coach. If he didn't accept, he would just be associated with this mess and have a hard time ever climbing up. This is a very difficult situation for him, but at least he has an opportunity to prove to AD's and people around the nation he can coach and win. If he does well this season and Louisville isn't post-season banned, and he can make a run in the tournament, suddenly the perception around his name changes and he'll be viewed very favorably.

I don't see how they won't be post season banned, given that they were already on probation.

On the other hand, this is the NCAA we're talking about, so this guy may be drawing a pension before a post season ban is enacted.

I agree with all this. Plus, it's not just a random assistant -- it's David Padgett, who last played for them like 9 seasons ago. He'll be one of the youngest HCs in the country, I'm sure. He's 32.

The Zion mix tape in that link is fucking insane. I hope he is clean, and comes to Duke, just to see how K could fuck it up.

Adidas literally bought him an AAU team.

After a brief stint of landing fairly talented recruits, Tony Bennett has decided to go back to leveraging UVA's success to land 2- and 3-star recruits.

UNC getting CB picks for Nassir Little and Simisola Shittu. It looks they're capitalizing off of the title.
