I never know what to do when I am off work. I usually end up going in on one of my days off to do something called "flex" work. Basically, they schedule you for 35 hours or so but they want you to work at least 38. Some people add an hour here and there onto their regular shift. I prefer to do it all at once on one of my days off to prevent boredom and severe alcoholism.

This weekend, though, I had an unusually brutal stretch of days and decided to not do flex today. I wish I had worked. I think I might be one of the 10% of Americans (or whatever) who actually likes his job.

Anyway, this is the place to bitch about work or sing its praises or whatever.

Bump this up. CK updates needed.

After two weeks of training and free labor, HR lady finally figured how to do her job which is hiring employees. Monday marks money making merriment.

(last sentence unacceptable on TDD)

The alliteration filter stops at four consecutive. Never thought we'd need to detect any more than that. I'm outraged.

Might be making in roads with Dave Mathews Band's video crew. Their crew works their tour but also Olympics and Super Bowls.

Naturally, they'll wait to tell me they can't take me 4 months from now.

I haven't talked to Ashley (Dave's wife) in forever (literally a couple years), but, if I can find her email, I can put in a good word if you need it.

In case you're wondering why TF I know her, she was in my high school class.

Needless to say, Ash is supremely hot.

You should have a custom title (or whatever the thing under the username is called) that says "Knows People".

I'd appreciate that. Not sure what kind of sway she could have but it couldn't hurt I bet.

When I lived in C'ville, the DMB played at Tracks every Tuesday night for $2.00. I never went. You could go to Miller's on the downtown mall and see Tim and Carter and Boyd play for $1.00 instead. Crazy. Best music scene of any town I've ever lived in. Dave's a pretty regular guy. Met him with my brother one night at Eastern Standard. Tim Reynolds lives on the Outer Banks now, and comes into my shop all the time.

That's crazy. Sons of Bill is the best local band now and are apparently close to breaking out. Parachute just came out of here as well. Besides them though, there isn't much going on in terms of actual talent.

Go check out the Red Rattles, they're pretty good.

I saw Dave and Tim in Winston-Salem during one of their acoustic tours from the third row. They literally walked out with their guitars, sat on a pair of stools like 10ft away, and played for four hours straight. Very unique experience.

Any idea where they play?

Does anyone live in Boston/has anyone lived in Boston before? Thoughts? I am considering taking an offer there and want some random people's opinions.

Also, if you have recommendations for neighborhoods to live in for someone who is just coming out of college let me know.

Simmons will probably allow this, but I don't think he should. None of the Ringer's current writers move the needle significantly more than the next best replacement who is willing to work and gain exposure for minimum wage.

I disagree slightly. Jason Concepcion is kind of a brand of his own now after Binge Mode and an Emmy for NBA Desktop. Their MLB guys are higher end but easily replaceable by any FanGraphs dude.

A video crew from Fox Business came into my work today. Supposed to be a segment on some show in the coming weeks.
