I disagree slightly. Jason Concepcion is kind of a brand of his own now after Binge Mode and an Emmy for NBA Desktop. Their MLB guys are higher end but easily replaceable by any FanGraphs dude.

Ironic, though unsurprising, that NBA Desktop is probably their worst NBA content besides Simmons himself. And they generate the most traffic.

To me, it has that typical annoying Ringer persona. Maybe I haven't watched enough and am misrepresenting it. It just seems like ESPN hot takes but with a hipster, pop culture spin. Not as bad as Shea Serrano or Simmons though.

The only Ringer stuff I like is done by the nerdier, more analytical guys.

The top podcasters should be kept at premium value; everyone else should be encouraged to try to find another outlet that needs them more than they need it (they won’t find this). I figure bringing Russillo into the Ringer full-time with cushy terms was the final straw for the irrelevant people.

Content creators unionizing is just bafflingly stupid to me. There is a tremendous discrepancy between the ones who pump out articles a few people accidentally click on while taking a shit vs. the ones millions of people rely on to make the daily commute bearable. The top talent shouldn’t subsidize replaceable parts in that industry.
