Ask medical questions here. And then go see your PCP.

Last summer one day I noticed slight discomfort in my butt when I would sit. I did some inspecting, and wound up pulling some long hairs out of this hole in my ass about an inch or two above my actually asshole. Anyway, over the next few days after pulling the hairs out, the hole would drain blood and puss. It was never painful, just slight discomfort. I wound up going to the doctor and he said it polonidal cyst that popped on its own. He said some people had it much worse and would get cysts the size of golfballs. He said I didn't need surgery or anything like that. A year goes by and I forget about it.

Tonight when I was wiping, I noticed some blood on the toilet paper, so I rechecked where my cyst was that I had forgotten about. I washed my hands and then pressed down and blood came out, but no puss. I did this a few times and now nothing is coming out anymore. The hole is still open.

For anyone with medical knowledge, is the hole supposed to close? If it isn't, is there a way to get it closed and if so what surgery would you recommend? The doctor I saw said to do nothing, however, having an open hole near where I shit makes me uncomfortable that it could get infected. It's not something I want to have on the back of my mind forever and would rather just get it finalized if possible.

I fear this won't end well for you. Not your actual medical condition, which will hopefully clear up. I mean this thread.

More practically, why not just go in for a follow up (with the same doctor if possible)?

That is revolting. I once saw an Outer Limits episode about this. As Rome said, this won’t end well.

Most pornographic websites actually started with innocent forum questions about breast exam techniques.

Doesn’t this seem like a really bad idea, or am I an asshole/boomer for still thinking standardized testing is valuable? Is this more snowflake millennial bullshit, or is there some objective evidence that we needed to fundamentally change the way doctors get sorted into different specialties in this country?

I would prefer that my primary care options continue to be doctors who may not have photographic memories but have good bedside manner, while my specialist options have photographic memories but may have bad bedside manner.

We used step 1/2/3 scores to filter who we interviewed because most applications looked the same. Will make selection process more tedious, but can still use step 2 scores

Slap go to a medical professional instead of a basketball forum. Life is precious. Better safe than sorry.

If they have to cut a huge hole into you you'll be sedated anyway. Lots of sympathy and cards.
