Reports on Twitter of an explosion at the Manchester Arena with confirmed fatalities and serious injuries following the Ariana Grande concert.

UK police say at least 19 dead, 50 injured. Unconfirmed reports of it being the result of a nail bomb and/or suicide bomber.

Even from a couple thousand miles away, this is scary shit:

There's poor judgment, and then there's this..........

Sounds like somebody in Alexandria woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

In other news, criminal charges being brought against multiple Michigan officials for Flint water situation. That's nice and all, doesn't help the people who already died or the ones who will suffer long term health issues from this.

Update: A 66 year old, white, male, Bernie supporter is the shooter. We are truly living in bizarro world.

Right-wingers already blaming Julius Caesar Shakespeare in the Park for this.

How absurd.

What a dumbass. His actions will accomplish nothing except to strengthen the partisan differences. There's no way now the GOP doesn't pass their shitty healthcare plan after this.

I would support a civil war.

Rep. Collins is eager to get the ball rolling on that, it seems.

Rep. Chris Collins (R-N.Y.) took a harder line when condemning political rhetoric, blaming Democrats for the current tone and “anger” toward President Trump and his supporters.

"I can only hope that the Democrats do tone down the rhetoric," Collins told WBEN. "The rhetoric has been outrageous ... the finger-pointing, just the tone and the angst and the anger directed at Donald Trump, his supporters."

All Bernie's fault.

Glad I'm moving out of the DC area soon. Will be headed back to NC, where we don't have to worry about these kinds of political divisions.

Don't move to the Wilmington area, this week we're finding out all about the chemicals that are being dumped in our drinking water, which can't be filtered out by our current municipal (privatized) water treatment plant. Fortunately we've got lots of rich white folk here, so we'll avoid a full-blown Flint situation. Eventually.

Yikes. Headed to the triangle, though. But I'm sure these stories will start popping up all over the state soon.

We need to talk about white-on-white violence.

I am honestly at a point, between the state of education and various legislative cockamamie (including the latest "no CCW permit needed" crap), where I would tell anyone considering a move here to wait a while.

I'd actually like to see more people move in, as long as they all vote the way I want them to.
