This just goes to show how much better the SEC is in football. I've started following NCAA football recently, when did this dominance begin?

Florida over Ohio State for the championship a few years ago is when this really started, IMO. OSU was a big favorite in that game, had the Heisman winner at QB. They lost by 27.

I am always shocked by how blatantly the refs help Notre Dame sustain drives or get defensive stops.

That PI call gave ND an automatic first down in the redzone and set-up the much-needed TD.

It started a little earlier than that IMO. LSU won it in the 2003 season, and Auburn should have been playing for it in 2004 but got screwed. Then Texas won in 2005, and the SEC has won every year since. So really since the 2003 season the SEC might have won it every year but the 2005 season if Auburn had been able to play for it the previous season.

And that Heisman for Troy Smith was a joke. Darren McFadden should have won the Heisman that year; he was most definitely the best player in college football. But they wouldn't give it to him because he was a sophomore (according to the experts), and playing for Arkansas instead of Ohio State obviously hurt him. Then the next year they gave it to a sophomore Tebow over McFadden. :roll:
