Pomeroy

hahahahahaha

Biggest upsets
3) Duke and Savannah State not losing on the same day. Duke and Savannah State haven’t lost on the same day since December 6th of ‘08 mainly because Duke almost always wins when it’s playing on the same day as Savannah State. But this past week, the Blue Devils lost consecutive games at home to Notre Dame and Syracuse. Savannah State also played at home on Saturday and Monday, but Tiger Arena isn’t exactly Cameron Indoor and neither game was a lock. Savannah State knew what was on the line in both cases, and in both games the Tigers came through with a victory. This week, each squad is on the road for a Saturday-Monday swing, and they also both play on the road next Saturday, so the streak is bound to end soon, unless you believe in destiny or something stupid like that.

Defense fell to 133

Offense 0.2 behind 1st now.

Passed Indiana, St. Mary's and Iowa State overall.

UNC's defense keeps rising. Getting in that area where it's good enough to win a title.

D continuing to get worse, O holding steady. Crap remains crap.

The only "positive" spin is we are one of the 'unluckiest' teams in the country, so that's cool.

Given the strength of our schedule, we could lose a bunch of close games, slide down to 10 seed range, and simultaneously climb back into Top 10 Pomeroy. We'll be like that 2014 Tennessee team (who we avoided in the tourney by losing to Mercer) that was an 11 seed and finished 7th overall in KP.

SMTTEM mentioned in chat that there are no teams in the top 15 on both offense and defense.

That fact plus the brilliance of Grayson, Brandon, and Amile (God-willing) makes it impossible for me to give up hope on this season.

With the obvious caveat that clearly the offense and defense numbers have generally trended up a bit over the past few seasons.

Iowa is #1 Kenpom now, with a .9444 Pyth. That Pyth would've been good for 7th overall in last year's ratings. If the season ended today, they'd be the worst #1 by Pyth in the Kenpom era.

We'd probably be like 19-2 and top 3 KP with Tyus and a healthy Jefferson.

No way we'd have >1 loss with Tyus and AJ healthy all year. Maybe not even one. Grayson/DT's 4 assists and 8 TOs - many leading to UK bunnies - becomes 8 assists and 1-2 TOs, with many of those assists to a wide open Grayson rather than a 'take in into the teeth of the defense' Grayson. Still might have lost to Miami as they weren't real bothered by Tyus last year. However, you have to think that it would have been a really tight game at least.

Didn't try to do the math, but would have figured that we would have flown past ND on offense with a 114 against the 89 of Louisville, but not a single tenth of a point.

#94 on defense. 30+ spot improvement during this winning streak.

Carolina falls to #10 on offense. Their defense actually improved.

D won't get any better with three scholarship guards left. They will have to play foul avoidance entire games
