Wake Forest at Duke - Sat, Jan 5, 12:00pm ESPNU

Cook with the Rondoish 0-11 fg, 12 assist, 2 turnover, great defense game.

Who was it last season making the Quinn Cook = Rajon Rondo comparison?

Oh right, nobody.

Plumlees are 1-7 FT.

Jefferson has a rebound fall into his hands but has it ripped away from him because his max bench is 120 lbs.

120 is generous. Has a long way to push up the bar with how long his arms are

K has to be pissed he can't put those guys in for more than 2:00 without the other team cutting the lead by 8-10 points.

Make it 1-9 FT for the Plumlees. Andre Drummond is laughing at this FT shooting.

Mason will be unplayable late in close games in the Tournament, and that's going to be a little bit of a problem for Duke.

So will we still have people complaining about our bench minutes?

This was easily Duke's worst performance of the season, IMO, which isn't a big deal when they've played like the best team in the country all season. Just didn't have it today except for a 4:00 stretch in the middle of the 1st half.

None of this will matter in the ACC but they need to figure some things out between now and their next game against a great team, which will be in late March if they can get that far.

Cook finished with 0 points, 14 assists, 2 turnovers.

His season FG% fell from 46% to 41% in one game.

This really wasn't that bad of a game. Defense was pretty much exactly on par with our season average and offense wasn't great, but not terrible either. The second unit made it look worse than it really was.

We left a ton of points on the table. If Quinn shot 25% that'd be six points. At the FT line as well. Granted Ryan's hot shooting made up for this but he basically only played four minutes in the second half. Also the bench sucks when they are all in there together.

How does K get his players up for a conference season in which they're basically assured of winning the regular season by 2-3 games even if they coast? It has to be almost impossible. I just worry that they won't be able to wake up after two months of ACC hibernation. Indiana will be pushed throughout almost every game until the end. Duke almost needs to create imaginary challenges for themselves, like pretending they started this game by Wake down 20 and they'll be starting down 15 against Clemson.

Duke will be challenged during the reg season. It's inevitable. They are going to have to exert max effort at some point this season, or they will lose two or three conference games. Outside of Quinn, there is still so much selfish play it makes me angry.

Kelly needs to cut down on the dirty play. We lose a lot on both ends when he has to sit b/c he can't control his inner thug.
