Looks like Glover and Clarke will save the movie from its titular character

Really? You're buying into this meme? Has Clarke ever been good in anything?

Han, Lando, and Chewy will be the stars. As it should be.

How is that a meme? Seems like just a line of thought based on set reports. I do agree with it, fwiw, he's a bland actor for the most charismatic character in the universe.

Clarke has range that GOT doesn't utilize well at all. Chewy will probably be the actual star.

It became a meme right off the bat because he isn't Harrison Ford. And then people doubled down on it when there was a report that he had an acting coach on set as if that makes any sense. Based on what I've seen in the trailers, he's nailing the mannerisms and speech patterns of Han Solo. I won't anoint him until I see the movie, but I'm not gonna shit on the guy because he has coach.

I mean, it's not JUST the fact that he got an acting coach. I'm not really shitting on him either, I think there's a chance Ron Howard pulled a good performance out of him in the reshoots. I'm just not expecting much.

I think he'll be closer to Christensen than Diego Luna.

A Quiet Place was excellent, I thought. Very tense. Only thing missing was Jim looking into the camera when something crazy happens.

Definitely better than Last Jedi though because no milking
Milking was one of the best scenes in the movie. Perfectly executes the intention of making the audience experience the discomfort that Luke is subjecting Rey to.
And that is the problem. There are so many other scenes that should have been much, much better than the milking scene. But they weren't.
What an awful post. Go watch Captain America.
I hate Marvel movies. So boring.

Is there a thread here for StarWars-turbation? Don't think there's any other explanation for liking the milking scene -- unless you have a space cow fetish ;)
(And I am a big Star Wars fan…just not TFA and TLJ. Don't like the way the main movies are going. I'm just glad Rebel One was good and am looking forward to Solo.)

Man...boring is the last thing I'd say about Marvel movies. I think you have arguments for "not well written" or "repetitive" but those movies are anything but boring.

I can tell you're a real Star Wars fan based on how much you enjoyed Rebel One.

Easily predictable popcorn movies are boring to me now. It's definitely because I'm an old man, though. I bet the college version of me would be watching and loving every one.

He's looking forward to Man Flying Spaceship by Himself

Probably should have said a fan of the original trilogy. So story lines that tie in with that are enjoyable (because the original story was great). I'm not a big fan of these new story lines. Most of them don't make sense. Or the movies spend too much time on certain throwaway scenes but not on more important ones.
Examples of scenes I didn't like. The casino scenes should have been shorter. Rey's "training" with Luke should have been longer. The scene where Kylo kills Snoke. Leia Poppins. Finn and Rose. Luke vs. Kylo, and Luke's "death." And there's no depth to the characters at all. I could keep going, but you get my point.
I do like the new Star Wars movies more than almost all Marvel movies, though, so there's that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Leia scene was fucking stupid. Hated it. Was almost perfect, then they blew it.

We graduated the same year and I love most of them. You must smoke "douche flutes".
If only I knew what that was or bothered to care enough to Google it. Oh well…

I guess I just turned into an old man faster. The grey in my beard proves it.
