There is some possibility this may not hold up as he gets more minutes against real competition.
However, it’s reasonable to predict Stewart will be Duke’s most numbers-friendly (not best or most important) player and a 1st round pick by season end. He’s 18 and this draft is going to be historically bad, plus the main thing he needs to work on to become a better pro prospect (3pt range) is something that probably won’t get better faster than his age hurts him.
If Scheyer can somehow (1) get Stewart to keep playing like this against good teams, thereby playing a big role in helping Duke (2) win a national title, while (3) sandbagging Stewart enough to not want to go pro after winning a national title and putting up 30+ PER/50+ net efficiency rating, then Scheyer will be the best coach in college basketball.
